Tablets and capsules remain some of the most widely used pharmaceutical dosage forms. At the same time, manufacturers face increasing requirements for product quality, process understanding, and regulatory compliance. Practical education plays an important role in preparing industry professionals for these challenges and ensuring that they are always up to date with new developments.

From August 3 to 7, 2026, the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy will host its Tablets and Capsules Hands-On Short Course, combining lectures with laboratory sessions. The program covers the full manufacturing process for multiparticulate beads, capsules, and tablets – from raw material assessment and formulation development to key unit operations, end-product testing, and quality control using PAT methods.
