Since its market launch and with a broad installed base, GranuLean has made name for itself in oral solid dosage (OSD) production. As part of our global expansion and in close consultation with our customers around the world, we have now extended this expertise to our state-of-the-art OSD Customer Center and manufacturing facility in Hangzhou. This enables us to offer international pharmaceutical companies, generic manufacturers, CDMOs, and startups worldwide the right, seamless granulation line for their needs, including comprehensive lifecycle services.

Internal collaboration between teams and regions also plays a key role, as the recent expansion of our GranuLean portfolio shows: Thanks to the knowledge transfer from Schopfheim to Hangzhou, customers now have the choice between a customized and a standardized granulation line in four different sizes ranging from 150 to 1,200 liters.

The GranuLean manufactured in Hangzhou is based on fully CE-compliant Syntegon technology. It comprises the essential basic functions with horizontal product flow within compact dimensions. The high degree of standardization and cost-efficient manufacturing result in a complete system that is available quickly while maintaining the accustomed high Syntegon quality. Peripheral equipment and services can be sourced from either Hangzhou or Schopfheim, depending on the customer’s region and requirements. Laboratory tests are also possible at both locations. For example, a GranuLean 150 is available for testing at the state-of-the-art customer center in Hangzhou.

GranuLean: the name says it all

GranuLean is your lean solution for high-quality granulation processes. The line combines a high-shear mixer, a wet mill, a fluid bed system, a dry mill, and integrated material handling in a compact footprint. While the high-shear mixer efficiently mixes and granulates using the unique Gentlewing impeller, the wet mill handles calibration. Drying takes place in the fluid bed, where the star balloon filter system ensures high yields. After the drying process, the product is discharged via a dry mill. Alternatively, granulation can be performed directly in the fluid bed using a tangential spray system with three-component nozzles (microclimate).

Due to its small footprint, GranuLean can be easily integrated into new and existing production facilities. The innovative control system with intuitive HMI enables open recipe creation and management for time-saving product development. Customers also benefit from a simple scale-up from lab to large-scale production.
