  • 2,500 euros go to the local branch in Schopfheim
  • Hüttlin managing director handed the check over to the local chapter chairman
  • German Red Cross to use the money to buy a building

Schopfheim, April 10, 2024. In late March, Jan Ottmann, managing director of Hüttlin GmbH, a Syntegon company, presented Simon Redling, chairman of the Schopfheim chapter of the German Red Cross (DRK), with a check for 2,500 euros. The local chapter of the DRK aims to invest these funds in buying the building it currently rents. The facility is located just down the road from Hüttlin on Lusring in Schopfheim. The neighborhood is not the only thing the two organizations have in common – they also share a commitment to the people in the region.

The German Red Cross helps people in various ways by organizing blood drives, providing medical services, transporting patients in emergencies, and responding to disasters. “We depend on everyone's help and support because the German Red Cross is entirely donor-funded and volunteer-driven,” says Simon Redling. Hüttlin's donation of 2,500 euros will go towards buying the building on Lusring in Schopfheim, which the DRK currently rents. The local chapter plans to purchase the building in 2024 and then gradually remodel it.

Jan Ottmann points out that Hüttlin GmbH wishes to support this: "As a business enterprise, we feel committed to the region. We are happy to support the volunteer work the German Red Cross does for the town. We want everyone in Schopfheim to be able to call on their help in the hope that they won't have to. It is also nice and comforting seeing so many volunteers working for the German Red Cross.”
