In the 1930s, the facility began producing and selling puffed wheat and rice cereal. As Doboy Inc., the company produced its first band sealer in 1946, a success that allowed Doboy to gain a strong foothold in the packaging machinery business. In 2004, Doboy Inc. was purchased by Syntegon.
Today, the New Richmond site is an active member of the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI), along with several other packaging organizations.
