Without powders and pellets, popular Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) forms like tablets and capsules wouldn’t exist. Compact solutions like our GranuLean unit combine a high-shear mixer, a fluid bed system and adequate material handling to produce pharmaceutical powders, granules, or high-quality pellets for controlled release medicines, e.g. multi-unit pellet system tablets (MUPS). Efficient mixing, drying, granulating, and coating technology makes sure that powders and pellets meet manufacturers’ particle size requirements, compression, and solubility criteria.

Drying, granulating and pellet coating

The compact Hüttlin GranuLean unit comprises a high-shear mixer, a wet mill, a fluid bed system, a dry mill as well as adequate material handling. While the high-shear mixer efficiently mixes and granulates with our unique Gentlewing agitator, the wet mill covers particle sizing before drying and granulation take place in the fluid bed utilizing tangential or top spray technology. Due to its small footprint, our granulation line can be easily integrated into new and existing pharmaceutical plants. The system comes in four pre-configured sizes and allows for shorter delivery times and faster ramp-up to production.

Our capsule filling machine series provides best conditions for highest pharmaceutical standards – from R&D and pilot scale to high production volumes. Whether you need to fill powders, (mini-) tablets, pellets, granules, liquids, or different combinations into hard shell capsules (HPMC or gelatin), we offer you the appropriate process technology for the production of both pharmaceutical and nutrition and health products. We also provide a containment concept for several machine platforms for the production of potent APIs up to OEB 4 or OEB 5, which ensure the highest operator protection.

Hermetic stick packs and sachets are the optimal packaging solution for single-dosed powder products. Our high-precision dosing serves to protect patients and allows controlled use of the medication. Thanks to the deep filling of the pouches, the product is used optimally. For expanded product protection and guaranteed efficacy, the contents of the package can also be gas-flushed as part of the packaging process for the patient's health.
